Pine & Crane
Website Design

Developed a website for Pine & Crane using Figma, and used Qualtrics and SPSS to conduct thorough market and customer research.

The goal of this project was to prototype a brand new website for Pine & Crane, a Taiwanese restaurant located in Los Angeles. In the dynamic and competitive landscape of the food industry, establishing a compelling online presence is crucial for restaurants seeking to attract and retain customers. Therefore, my mission is not only creating a new website, but also to understand the market and target audience.

Before and After

Utilizing research tools such as Qualtrics and SPSS, I conducted in-depth research to pinpoint the desires and expectations of our potential customers, with a special focus on identifying the core functionalities a successful restaurant website should offer. One of the pivotal findings from my analysis was the importance of an efficient reservation system, recognized as a primary need by our target demographic. To address this, I strategically placed the reservation function in the website's top bar, ensuring it is immediately accessible and effortlessly navigable from any page, thereby enhancing user experience and operational efficiency.

Before and After

Moreover, aligning the website’s aesthetic with Pine & Crane’s unique brand identity was a key part of this project. Through iterative design processes, I crafted a website that not only resonates with the ambiance of the restaurant but also elevates the brand's online presence. The design transition, showcased through before and after images on the website, illustrates a marked evolution towards an interface that is both visually appealing and functionally superior.

This project not only underscored the significance of analytical thinking and strategic design in creating effective digital solutions but also reinforced my ability to merge technical skills with creative vision to deliver a product that stands out in the digital landscape of the culinary world.
